I guess it means she's developing…
Hey, get a load of this super cool developmental phase: I call it the "mum's gonna get a cardiac event" -stage.
Bebe's not eating anything we prepare for her, everything is "meh". She may take a tiny bite or open her mouth for a few spoonfuls if spoon-fed, but food isn't interesting.
Bebe's not sleeping. Whether it be naptime at noon-ish or bedtime, it takes her over an hour to fall asleep no matter how tired she is. Naps are short - nights are restless. Last night she woke up at 11:00 p.m, was tearful for 30 minutes, played for almost three hours, went back to sleep and woke up at 7 a.m.
Also, I think she might be entering the "terrible twos" a bit early. (Is there a better word for this? It's nicer in Finnish: tahtoikä, "the will-age".)
Mum and dad are extremely tired, can't remember words and wake up every day feeling strangely hungover without drinking and having heart palpitation due to sleep deprivation and not exercising properly (due to constantly feeling tired…).
The upside to all this is that she's developing. If bebe would always sleep the same amount of hours, eat the same amount of food, be equally infuriating every day, she wouldn't learn new things and get new kinds of stimuli. Changes in routines mean changes in the mind and the body, a.k.a. developing. This is my mantra now.
To lighten the mood and stick with the theme of the blog, here's a picture of bebe eating a few days ago:

Easy does it
Slowly beginning to self-feed again. The utensils are still a bit iffy, bowls and plates are a no-no (they get thrown on the floor) but eating with fingers is ok. I guess that's 'cause then bebe can scratch her gums as she chows down her porridge.
EDIT: Bebe is a proper Dr. Evil doppelgänger in this pic!

Turku
We spent the weekend in Turku at bebe's godmother's place.
The feeding-silliness continues same as teething.

Going through the motions
Spoon-feeding has been IN for a few days now. Bebe reluctantly takes a preloaded spoon only to hand it back to dad (usually mum won't do). Then she sits there leaning forward with her mouth open. "Gulp". And we start again...
