Chairs, chairs!

Chairs are great (not high chairs, of course)! I think it's the danger element.

April moods

Easter monday at auntie's place. A bit of rye bread and a whole lot of play makes a happy bebe.

Bending the rules

We don't usually allow tv, toys etc. distractions at dinner table, but today Fez was just too cool for bebe to ignore and for dad to switch off.

also: spot the dog in the pic and get a cookie

Restaurant Day

A ray of light in this gray and damp Sunday: Restaurant Day!!

Bebe dined and had her 1-year photo taken at Koura & Pinsetti ("Grab & Pincer") pop-up restaurant slash photo studio for Baby-led Weaners.

For once I wasn't overly conscious about the mess bebe makes when eating out. Great fun and good, organic munchings!

Today

Today's munchings:
Kicked off with banana and cucumber: "Meh..."
Karelian Hot Pot and mozzarella for lunch: "Meh..." and "Well, maybe just a bite."
Sugar snap peas as a snack: "Mmm, crunchy. Then again, it's something new so better spit it all out."
Quinoa balls and avocado for dinner: "Meh..."
Porridge and pear for supper: "SCORE!"

Yet another fork related post

The fork is so cool! Bebe has little interest in learning to use it "properly", but it must be at hand at all times. This turns a simple omelette dinner into a hazardous eye poke-a-thon.

I HEART PEAS

Gross shirt goes well with gross food: peas SUCK! Checking out dad's plate instead.

Send in the purees!

Well, not quite. But bebe is definitely a mush kinda girl these days. Wedges, sticks, slices or dices of anything are politely given to the dog. Stews, porridges, chunky purees and, of course, loads of turkish yogurt, that's what the new year is all about.

How the cool kids do it

Facing front is so passé, cool kids eat sitting on the tray.

We tried using the safety belt that came with the Ikea Antilop once but the result was a hysterical tantrum. A wooden highchair we had before, which now is at grandma's was less easy to escape from, but no-one other than my mother has the energy to clean every nook and cranny after each meal. The Ikea-chair can just be hosed down along with the baby.

Christmas dinner

Table full of treats - food of choice: a cracker and the plastic cap of a fruit squeeze.
